Re: Excessive bank charges - anybody going to complain to their bank?

Good luck getting your charges back Charlie!

That's rather shocking about the other person's account details

Good luck Charlie, I would be tempted to phone her and tell her what you have received

Sod doing what the banks want you to do, they would want you just to send the stuff back so that other customer wasn't the wiser.

Personally if it was me, and my details were sent to another customer I would certainly want to know about it! wouldn't you??

Very interesting to read on the Consumer Action Group website that claims are now being paid which are well past the 6 year limit. We have now seen claims going back as far as 1991 being refunded!!!

Wow!!! That's interesting. Wish I'd kept my statements for longer!!!

You are right about that other bank customer.........I would want to know too. In fact, goodness knows who they may have accidentally sent my details to aswell. In the wrong hands that information could do a lot of damage.

Exactly, but perhaps it would be a good idea to wait until your claim has been paid and then phone the other customer up and let them know what has happened.

Think carefully about this Charlie - some people would be very frightened/threatened/unsettled by a stranger phoning them with this information. It depends so much on who she is and what her temperament is.

I know DM. I was thinking exactly that this morning. I'm not sure that I will ring her, but maybe I'll write. I just don't know what to do. I don't think the Bank should get away with making this MASSIVE mistake though. That could be any of our bank details that are getting sent to strangers..........it's frightening.
