Stockholm pics

Not a lot I'm afraid but it gives you an idea of what a beautiful city it is. Built on 14 islands, one third is built, one third is 'green' and one third is water. Did quite a lot of s/seeing and travelling round whilst OH was working - the public transport is just amazing!

Re: Stockholm pics

Stunning!!! I too find it a lot grander than I imagined. Having been to both Oslo and Copenhagen, I think Stockholm is very much more imposing . . . has more water than I imagined too - but not really surprising I suppose

Re: Stockholm pics

It is clean. You can catch salmon in the middle of the city. And eat it without ill effects.
Did you stay in the af Chapman boat-hotel?

No, we stayed out at Arsta, which is where OH was working. However, we have stayed at the Hotel Esplanade, which I think is the left hand building in the 3rd pic. Lovely place, quiet and spacious and a tray with glasses and a bottle of Croft sherry and cheese nibbles appeared at 5pm each day, with a little handwritten ticket saying - please help yourselves!

Re: Stockholm pics

Bet Årsta didn't match up with the sherry-and-nibbles bit.
Noted for next visit, though - good recommendation!
