Max at Emergency Vet

Max tore his nail slightly out on his walk yesterday, it was still firmly attached and wasn't bothering him, so I decided to rest him for a few days to allow it to heal.

This morning he was laying in the living room, and let out an awful scream, leapt in the air and sent the coffee table (complete with cup of coffee) flying across the room then noticed blood on the carpet and Max hopping around on three legs. He's torn his nail completely and it was hanging on by millimetres

He's now had the rest of his nail removed, has a weeks course of antibiotics and a lovely bandage! He's going back for a dressing change tomorrow bless him, he's totally unchuffed!

Oh poor Max - if a sheepdog could look sheepish, he does. Lots of cuddles and smooths to him - tell him his bandage looks really cool too!

Aww.... poor Max, I hope he'll feel better soon - he looks quite post in his blue sock!

One of Moli's staffies ripped her nail last year and the vet had to remove it...... if I remember correctly, she had a nice blue sock too!

If he chews that bandage I've got a lovely bright yellow one to replace it with he's been warned!

Thanks guys, he doesn't seem to be any the worse for it - just totally miffed that I won't play ball with him I swear if the dog had a brain he'd be dangerous
