Re: First bloom..........

That's lovely Mags.I noticed there were plump buds on my mum's when I was there 2 weeks ago - bet she will have a flower or two when I go over on Sunday.

Same theme, different flower. I do hope we don't get any more hard frosts (or, perish the thought, snow!) - I saw one nice magnolia with half open flowers today and the beautiful tree which is a centrepiece in the town has started to open its buds. It is always such a shame when the frost gets them and they look like brown rags instead of the beauties they should be.

Beautiful, Mags, what a gorgeous color! My next door neighbor has them, but they're the Autumn blooming ones.

Re: First bloom..........

Lovely, nice colour too. My camelia has never flowered - don't know if it's too cold/windy here. Might try putting it in a pot and giving it more shelter.
