Re: Smokey RIP

That's the only problem with having a pet, you get so attached to them that when they do go it's heartbreaking. I think it's even harder when you have to make the decision to let them go cos of ill health. I've been through it twice in 4 years and it still hurts now

I totally understand that Na, I am sooo attached to my babies, they are young and I hope I will have many happy years with them.

I'm dreading the day when Jas goes but hopefully that won't be for a few years yet

Re: Smokey RIP

People at work dont understand how attached I am - some of the girls say "it's only a cat" !!!!!

If I ever have to take them to the vet I have to tell a white lie and say that I am ill myself - they would never understand why I have to take time off work!

Re: Smokey RIP

Same here. Paul understands how I feel and when we had to have Tam pts he cried aswell.

Normally Paul will say 'Oh for goodness sake it's only a dog'but losing Tam really hurt him

Re: Smokey RIP

I broke my heart when Sam was PTS. It took ages to get over and for months after I kept expecting him to come through the cat flap.

Unless you are a pet lover no-one can understand how much it hurts to lose them.

I often feel that taking them to the vet is almost as bad as having to go to the doctor yourself!

Re: Smokey RIP

It's so nice to actually chat to people who feel as passionate about their animals as i do - my OH likes them but not like me! my mum is the same as me, but I think you lot are as nuts as me about your babies!!!
