Re: Worried....

Oh Mags - so what now - are they running tests? It's so worrying - how old is she? I wonder what is wrong?

Just you saying that they have moved her to a dark place says it all to me - that they understand her needs and are doing the very best for her - sounds like a nice practice.

Re: Worried....

Abbi, she is 7 so not old by any means. They did say the senior vet would see her tomorrow so perhaps they will come up with something then.
And yes, it is a very nice practice.....they make you feel that your pet is well looked after. We changed vets after Sam and have found this one to be much better.

Thanks DM, I'm just hoping the antibiotics and fluids will make her perk up a bit.

Re: Worried....

Mags, I am sure she will be fine and they will get her on the road to recovery real soon - as Sam said she might have a blockage, which will show up on an x.ray. I changed vets when I moved and now have a very good practice that I am very happy with.

Re: Worried....

The vet didn't comment on the hair that was coughed up nor did they mention X rays. Maybe they are waiting to see how she reacts to the drip and antibiotics before taking it any further.

Re: Worried....

Just had a call from the vet to say there has been no change in Cassie. They've been unable to get her temperature down-its now 104 1/2' and she still isn't eating. She has passed a little urine though. She is still on the drip and antibiotics and they've started her on another medication today.
If there's no improvement tomorrow she'll see the ultra sound specialist on Thursday. It's so worrying.
We were also told we could go in to see her tomorrow afternoon, which I'm looking forward to even though she's unwell.
Seems like its a case of waiting now til they find out what's wrong with her.

Re: Worried....

Oh Mags, give her a big kiss from us all tomorrow. It must be so hard to work out what is wrong with her. Poor little gril. Thinking of you all the time - Abbi x
