Re: Worried....

Thanks Sam, I do hope it is something as simple as that. She does moult a lot even though she gets brushed daily. I think I am more worried because she hasn't 'spent a penny' since Friday and I've started wondering if it's anything to do with her kidneys.

Re: Worried....

Aww hope Cassie is feeling better soon Mags xx

Yeah I also think it sounds like an upset tummy, and more than likely is xcess fur coupled with eating something that didn't agree with her tummy.

Get a clean kitchen towel and soak it with some water and drop some small droplets on her mouth by sqeezing the kitchen towel, in case she's thirsty but doesnt have the energy to sip some. As it's important she gets fluid.

Let us know how you get on at the vets and I hope shes feeling better soon - give her a big hug from me xx

Re: Worried....

I've just returned from the vet and they are keeping Cassie in for at least 24 hours. She will have an anaesthetic, have a drip put in, blood tests and liver and kidney examinations. Her temperature this morning was 104'.
I really didn't expect her to be kept in, poor angel. I'll probably be sat by the phone all day waiting for a call from them.

Will post more news when I get it.

Re: Worried....

Awww Mags I hope they find out what's wrong with her

She's in the best place and I'd be exactly the same. When my bitch Tammy went in for her op I was like an idiot about the place. I kept looking at the clock and wishing it to be time for me to phone to see if she was gonna be okay to come home.

Re: Worried....

Have had a call from the vet to say there is no problem with her liver and kidneys(thank goodness). She still has a temperature and is still on the drip and they have put her on antibiotics and painkillers.
They've tried her with food but isn't interested so said they'll tempt her with fresh chicken or fish tomorrow. Also there's been no joy with the litter tray (4 days now).
She is a very timid cat anyway and they said she was trying to hide when anyone came by so they have moved her to a quiet
dark end of the of the room to try to give her some peace (ahh!)
But as yet they can't say what's wrong with her.

Thanks everyone for all your concern, I really do appreciate it.
