Soaked litter tray

Soaked litter tray


I brought Dylan to my boyfriend's yesterday and this morning when I got up I noticed the litter in Dylan's tray was completely drenched, all of it was soaked.

It's never happened before and Dylan seems fine in himself, he had a new cat food yesterday but I'm not sure whether that was the cause of it or whether it's something I need to mention to the vet.

What do you think?

I would get him to the vet RCR - it was one of the signs I overlooked with Smudge many many years ago when she had hyperthyroidism.

He's been fine now, drunk a little more than he does but not a worrying amount.

Keep an eye on him then. Large amounts of urine and increased drinking make me wonder about kidney function.

He's drunk normally since then, no more tray related problems.

Funny story though - while we were at boyfriend's Dylan kept trying to attack the washing machine when it was on wanting it to stop and when I took him out on his harness this morning he tried making friends with a spiky plany that was at the edge of the garden from next door both sides came as a surprise to him when the spiky plant spiked him

Should I still mention his tray to the vet when he goes in later on this month or would it be OK to leave if I continue to monitor him?

I would definitely mention it, better to err on the side of caution now rather than later.
