So it ain't gonna go overnight either - if you lose it too fast then your body goes "EEK" and slows your metabolism down so you're burning the calories even slower - which makes it even harder to lose weight. Slow and steady! Regular aerobic exercise (i.e. exercise that makes you out of breath) raises your metabolism - but only if you are eating sensibly as well, or your body will just rebel.

As DM said, muscle weighs heavier than fat - I'm 14.5 stone and need to lose 2, minimum. But no-one ever believes me 'cos I'm 5'9", reasonably fit and still in size 14 clothes.

Good luck and be patient with yourself!
my OH SO RUDE hubby says he can help out with that one!!!!!
MEN!!!!!!

when I told him i ahd lost three pounds this week he said " where, didnt you go back and look?"

it took me 7 years to put on the weight, i just keep piling it on and on. thinking about it, it is the first time i havent put any on in those 7 years so yippeeee!

3 pounds? Could have been worse, could of been a tenner

No seriously though, the best way to lose weight is slowly CJ. You will have more chance of keeping it off that way. Wish you all the best and good on ya girl.

Re: i should be happy, but i'm dissapointed

Well done CJ. 3Ib is good - much better than putting any on!! lol. I weigh 14.5 stone and need to lose several and once I've made up my mind I will lose weight, I want it to happen instantly, so I do sympathise. However, as the others have said, it is better to do it slowly and steadily. Good luck and you CAN do it!!
