Hugs to Fran and Charlie for fighting Williams corner, hope all turns out well for him. Am seriously praying for a false possitive on the last test.

I'm wondering what the statistics are for false negative results. Does anyone know or have any idea?

Didnt Desley make a post based on the the false negatives/fales possitives taken from the Fab site a while back. I'll see if I can find it.

Thank you Elaine! I have just read this.....

the positive predictive value of an in-practice test for FeLV antigen is quite low, to the extent that more than half of positive results are false positives. This is especially important if a positive result is found in a healthy cat. Therefore it is strongly recommended that a positive screening test should be confirmed by another test, such as immunofluorescence or virus isolation.

Still loads to read yet though!

LOL I got about half way through and then saved it to my favourites for a look later. Found loads of support sites for FeLV kitties along the way and also a check list for owners to use if they are concerned.
