Bernard's op today

Well, Bernard was taken to the vets at 8am this morning ready for his various ops today. As most of you know he's having his lump removed, a couple of teeth out and a heart x-ray. Bless him.

He wasn't at all happy at not eating since 5 o'clock last night!!

I asked the vet to do a blood test to check for FeLV before anything else, just in case. I know it was only an in-house test and I know that the incubation period may not have been long enough for it to show yet, but I just wanted a little peace of mind. They have just called to say that he tested negative, which is great news.

Fingers crossed for him and I'll call them at lunchtime to see how he's getting on.

We're all rooting for him CB. I'm sure he'll be fine but we understand your natural concern.
Sounds like good news on the felv front.

Re: Bernard's op today

I've just called the vets for an update and Bernard is okay. The op has been done and he's just coming round now. They couldn't tell me how many teeth he has had out, or much else really, but at least he's okay!!!

I have to phone again at 3 o'clock to see what time I can go and get my handsome man!!!

Re: Bernard's op today

I've just spoken to the vets again and they said that the lump was just a fatty cyst type thing and they aren't worried about it, which is fantastic news!!!

He also had 2 teeth out and a scale and polish.

Apparently he looks a bit funny from all the fur they have shaved off!! lol Can't wait to see him and get him home. Only two hours!!
