Any nurses on the forum may correct me but I think if the blood is a light red it would be more likely to be something like a cut or irritation rather than an internal bleed. It may also be caused by worms.
I stand corrected if I am wrong and wish Simon well. xxx

My understanding is the same as Elaine's: if the blood is dark it's probably from different bleeding further up; if it's bright red probably occurred during straining to pass the stool. Do cats get hemmorhoids? (sp?) That's what happens with people......

Simons had no blood in his number 2's since been on his antibiotics. His temperant has beign the same since we got him I just worry about him.

Have you thought of adding more liquid to his diet, or maybe a few drops of oil (vegetable or fish) or a little bran, just to make the stool softer and it easier for him to go? Like the others I think this sounds like he is tearing the tissue at his anus as he passes a motion. God that the vet has checked him though.
