Operation Finalised (19/02/2008)

Well I had my final pre operative assessment yesterday, and a date for my (hopefully) final operation on my knee has been booked for 19th Feb.

I'm like a cat on hot bricks now just wanting to get it over and done with! But the good news is I can eat up until 8am in the morning, which is a releif as I thought I would be starving from midnight onwards! My admission time is 12:30 and hopefully I should be on my way home by 5:30

Good news, Amber! I know you'll be so glad to have it over with. And great that you won't have to starve from midnight; I hated that when I had cataract and cancer surgery!!!

It's good you've finally got a date . . . good luck, I'm sure all will go well. Will the operation cure the problem once and for all? I hope so!

fingers crossed! The consultant said there are no guarantees about it reducing the pain, as I basically have a piece of bone missing from the back of my kneecap, so it doesn't run smoothly in the groove so that could be part of the problem. He does think however that the wires are catching on the soft tissue which is restricting my movement, and also as I can feel and see the wires underneath my skin, I'm unable to kneel down as the pressure on my skin is unbearable and the wires basically grate on my kneecap
