More Sickness :(

Henri is still not out of the woods so to speak, still has a sore eye and sneezing. Change of eye drops and new Antribiotics.
That was Friday afternoon.

Came home to find Jac sitting looking miserable, closer inspection revealed a closed mattery eye I was in total disbelief. Bathed it in cooled boiled water and used a new tube of Fucithalmic eye ointment which was how Henri had first been treated. Had Jac to Vet this morning. He has same sore eyes as Henri and high temperature . So much for my thinking vaccinations protected them. He too has the other
Eye drops (Maxitrol) as his third eyelids are badly swollen and the steroid in the drops will help reduce the swelling plus antibiotics. I had groomed Jac the night before and his eyes were ok. The vet said it can come on suddenly.

Then this evening little Misty mewed and she sounds decidedly hoarse and not quite herself.

Whilst at the vets I mentioned about Jac being so cautious generally, he has always been like this. Vet says he has very little or no sight in his left eye. The right she thinks is ok but has said if we want to she can refer him to a Specialist eye vet. I always suspected he had problems with his sight and this explains so much.

So... I'm just hoping no one else takes poorly

Sending healing vibes to all your lovelies Helen. You have such patience, I admire you for that. Take care and look after yourself too, all the nursing care you give can take its toll. x

Re: More Sickness :(

You think things wont get worse

Mindy deteriorated to the point where I was worried sick earlier this week, had had her & Tim at Vets on Tues pm, he said the eye drops weren't working & put them both onto antibiotics. Said the antibiotics would work within 24 hours. Mindy got worse instead of better and spent two days hospitalised on a drip . Her temperature was over 105. .

Timmy has been really grumpy on the antibiotics. He goes back to the vets on Monday for a check up. I've to take Henri along too to make sure he is recovered in the hope he can start his vaccinations. I'm not overly hopeful as he sneezed a few times today. Mindy has to return to vets for check up on Thurs. I feel I live at the vets :/

So far Ben and Amber have remained unscathed.

What a time your pride are going through Velvet. Hope they all start to pick up really soon and hope and pray that Ben and Amber manage to avoid it. Perhaps they are immune? Fingers well and truly crossed.

Re: More Sickness :(

Tim got signed off at vets today but Henri not so.

Henri has runny nose & sore eye & his glands up. Back on antiviral injections every other day & antibiotics twice daily.
Im beginning to wonder if this kitten will ever get his vaccinations

Wee pic of him with Amber this morning
