advice needed please

Hello All,
I need some advice about tiffany. This morning she had a poo outside her litter tray shes done this before so not worried about that. The thing I'm worried about is there was blood in it. Shes fine in herself eating, drinking running around things like that. As any one else had this problem?
Regards Mandy.

Hi Mandy,
Was the blood bright red or a dark/browny red in colour? This will tell you whether or not the source of blood is localised or more internal. If it's dark red, that's a sign that it could have come from deeper inside and would need to be checked up on. Either way, you're right, pooing outside of the litter tray, if that's not in her usual behaviour could indicate something's wrong.
Keep a very close eye on her and if it continues I would be inclined to ring the vet.

Hi,
I'm not worried about her doing outside the tray she's a little madam and does this a lot. The blood did seem dark I will keep an eye on it and take her to the vet. Thank you

Cats are usually clean animals and any deliberate defication outside of the litter tray could be a sign of an underlying problem. Either health wise or emotionally ! Please see a vet.

Cats are sensitive to stress this can show in their behaviour such as not using the litter tray but can also bring on intestinal stomach upsets causing blood in stools.
