strange phone calls

have had a few calls today about the motorbike for sale in the motorbike magazine! I've never had a motorbike!

we are ex-directory & never give our number out to anyone - always use the mobiles except for family & the schools the girls go to, so we don't get many calls. Well it seems some magazine has misprinted the phone number for the advert. So someone will be sat by their phone wondering why they are not getting any calls.

Oops... someone has slipped up! Can you contact the magazine and tell them they have printed your phone number in error?

Re: strange phone calls

That's SO annoying!

Maybe you can ask the next caller which paper they saw the ad in? Hopefully it's only a daily/weekly so they'll stop soon

I got a phone call today to say I had won a holiday and I could call a free phone number and give a reference number in I haven't but if it's free and I do it from a call box have I got anything to loose? I mean if it asks me to ring another number to claim it or to pay a lot etc to get it then I won't but may just ring to see

Are you going to give it a try, BC? If it sounds too good to be true it probably is! I'm inclined to be skeptical about things like that...

We have had a few of those phone calls and just put the phone down! Be careful as some of them are to do with Time Share companies..

Always remember, you don't get anything for nothing..

Re: strange phone calls

Wise words there from Queen Bee.

BC - Just ignore it. How have you won a holiday? Did you enter a competition to win one? No, it is a scam / timeshare.
