New Year's Eve Pics!

Wow - what an amazing day yesterday! All the better for it being pretty well a last minute thing . . . went from just outside the O2 Arena in Docklands to just by St Katherine's Dock by Tower Bridge. We had Police helicopters swooping down for a close look, people taking pictures from bridge and apartment balconies. It was quite a squeeze, and bloomin cold, but brilliant!

Leaving the QEII pier and the O2 Arena . . .

Here's Dominik, Earthrace and tower bridge . . .

St Katherine's Dock at about 4.30pm as we were taking Dominik back to my Mums in order to then come back and PARTY!

Tower Bridge beautifully lit up as we were heading off up the river to see the fireworks

The river misty with the smoke from the fireworks - it was like being in a really thick pea souper

And just one more, rather arty shot - the camera took some great pics without the flash, some where too fuzzy, but others, such as this, worked quite well

Great pics Yola - how amazing it must have been to actually be there and see those fireworks live. I hear London was voted the best firework display this year! Must have cost a fortune.

Re: New Year's Eve Pics!

LOL! Thanks Karen, and doesn't he know it! I have a great pic of him snuggled into one of the crew's weather proof coats - even then he was bothered about how his hair looked (God what have I bred )

This has to rank amongst one of the most memorable days/nights ever. It was so relaxed, and such fun - and I'm really delighted that my brother came with us and that it looks as if we are friends again after 5 years of not talking!

Getting on and off the boat was hairy-scary though, specially after a bit of a skin-full - no gang way, simply 2 4" x 4" planks of wood to balance on (body of boat, to fin to dockside) Yikes!!!
