How does your garden grow?

Mine's doing good this year!

The raspberry bush hasn't anything yet, it gave us 2 raspberries last year (it's first year) so hopefully a few more this time round!

The redcurrants and blackcurrants, sorry I can't remember which are which from these pics!

Brambles i'm training

The gooseberries need tying up, I must get onto that!

And sorry it's on it's side, PB is having a strop and won't let me switch it round, but my little peach tree in her second year in the garden (grafted stock though) is giving me a single little peach! Can you spot it?

Not too long 'til fruit picking time here!

Re: How does your garden grow?

My garden suffered two years of neglect-first me rupturing my achilles tendon and then needing a cartilage op. Then Jenny getting sick last year.

It`s a long haul back but I am proud of some of my veg garden-the apple trees that were smothered with bind weed and couch grass are now mulched with mushroom compost and even my onions look like they have been weeded

Oooh good for you Stephan! You must get some pics up.

I need to sort these weeds in mine, the fencing between mine and next doors gardens is only about 3ft and picket and they don't even mow their lawn, so i'm forever having their dandelion seeds come sproting over here, and their long grass poking through (as you can see in the last pic!) which drives me round the bend and I don't really want to spend a lot of money on 6ft fencing as we are only renting and (hopefully) will be in a position to buy our own place in a few years or so and it just seems a waste as to do it decently would cost around £800, so if I do do it would only be the cheap stuff.

Looking good, Random! Yes, Steph, pics would be nice.

No fruit here, the tomatoes, basil and hot peppers doing well. The potatoes look sort of lanky; when is it time to dig? Advice welcome. Oh, and poor year for the onions, very few came up!

When did you plant them Eileen and what type are they?

I think a general rule is when the flowers are fully open, or the stalks are about 10 inches, pull one up and see if it's big enough, I think they take about 12 weeks + but I haven't grown spuds in years! We used to do them all round in the greenhouse.

Thanks, Random, the potatoes haven't flowered yet; they are Yukon Golds. Forget when I planted them, mid-May I think .....
