They say he was handsome when he was young, dissipated living got him into that awful shape you see in the later portraits.......

It's a horrid thing, but I am sure that given time people will have no other choice. They are doing away with cheque guarantee cards and once cheques go as they will, credit cards will be the only things left - or debit cards of course. I remember postal orders!!!

Plus he had brain damage as the result of a horrific fall from a horse. He was unconscious for quite a while.

And people who don't want credit cards will be walking ATMs for muggers, carrying around that other alternative .......... cash!

yes i've heard he was, just not to my taste

No - historical accuracy got lost but it was interesting that Thomas Tallis appeared as a bit of a rake. My fav piece of classical music is Variations on a Theme of Thomas Tallis by R Vaughan Williams - never realised the Theme was that old!
