Re: Anyone going to the Dundee show in May?

Fran: Only a *mere* seven hours or so?
I must say I'm not looking forwards to the one-and-a-bit it will take me to get there. Rover has.... comments on everything when he's in a moving car. He's not distressed, just curious, and forever telling us off for not letting him out to investigate the interesting little nooks, crannies and dogs we pass. Even if he can't actually *see* them.
Be interesting for me to see what he makes of the show. Think he might like it, actually, from his reactions to other people, dogs and cats in the waiting-room at the vets. If not, we go home.

Re: Anyone going to the Dundee show in May?

He's entered. Will give his breeders a chance to see what he's grown into as well. Dad's nose, mum's temperament, that sort of thing. Must be odd to let your little charges go off to strangers and then not know a thing about what they look like as non-kittens. Seems to me to be a useful tool in deciding what direction your lines should go - having some sort of an idea what shape and temperament the offspring grew. Mind, the new owners might be just like me and send reports complete with photos when anything happens. Think they may just be too polite to tell me to shut the f... lip up!

Genetics fascinate me, must find a meek breeder somewhere close that I can terrorise with 20057 questions. Books are good, the "Genetics for cat-breeders and Vets" for instance, but I would like to see the results in the fur. Personality and spirit doesn't translate to formulas. <goes off to look for breeder>

Thanks. Successful day would be that Rover likes his day out and that I find him another favourite toy. The last one has become a filthy, well-loved scrap. Maybe I should just nick his brother at the show.
