Question

When vets etc ask if your cat is urinating excessively.......
How do you know? I mean how often should a healthy cat urinate on a daily basis?
When vets talked about Winstons excessive urination, I always took it to mean that because of his failing kidneys making his urine more dilute, his urine looked more like a puddle in the litter box as opposed to a small clump of wee.

Re: Question

I'm not sure either. You'll have to ask if you're asked the question at any time in the future.
My cats don't wee a lot though - it's difficult to know how much.
Maybe the vet was hinting at a cystitis sort of thing - little and often?

Re: Question

I am probably getting paranoid but was searching the net about feline dandruff and came across this site http://www.felinediabetes.com/cat-dandruff.htm
It just started me off wondering. I dont think she drinks excessively. We have a cat it fountain and I top it up every couple of days. She is an irritable kitty at times but has always been that way, its part of her Divaness, or so I thought.

Re: Question

I really never paid much attention to this; Leia doesn't drink a lot of water, although she does have moist food with gravy twice a day,,,I would guess that she wees about three times daily.....
