I do believe animals live for the moment more than we do, and just enjoy their lives, and as long as he continues to receive the tlc that he needs and is happy and comfortable then that's something to at least be thankful for. Treasure the darling boy and keep him strong with your love.

Just a thought, is he on renal support food, and is he enjoying the food he's on, if you want a change I ordered some of this for my little girl today, Going to try it and I'll report back on the taste test!

Well the taste test scored a purry 'yum' and 10/10!! My little girl ate half a pack in one hit, most unlike her!

Re: A fright with Donald.

That's good news - so tricky to find something they like, especially with renal support food.

Re: A fright with Donald.

Just thought I'd give a quick update on Donald. He was back last Friday for a chech up. Thankfully we have had no more blood from his eye, we are keeping the infection under control with convenia injections and he is a bit snotty but hasn't lost his appetite. His kidneys are slightly better than last time and his thyroid levels are lower than last time too. We will need to watch his thyroid level because they may be lower due to chronic illness ( his nose) and we do not want them going too low. He has put on more weight to almost the same as when he arrived, the difference being it is fat this thine rather than fluid in his abdomen.
All in all we are very pleased with the results and he's nit doing badly for a cat only expected to live a few months nearly a year and a half ago. We think he is about 19 now and has no teeth but munches down his renal food no problem.
