No, I wasn't aware they could, or did! I've often had them land on me in the garden and just walk along my arm or leg. I like them, their larvae eat aphids

I have been bitten by a ladybird in the past, not a bad bite, but itchy. It may or may not be true that it's only the females that can bite.

I am always pleased to see them in the garden, as you say, the larvae eat aphids avidly!
