Oh look at them loving that box! I found when I left the cat carrier out without the door on and put covers in they used it as a bad so its a lot easier now!

Lucky you! I tried that years ago; cat's weren't buying it!

Nope, mine don't either. I have one which was recommended by my vet, a sturdy wire cage with a top opening- very secure once they are in as there is no way of them busting out. Oh, and it is supposedly 'easier to pop them into a top opening carrier'

'Pop'?!?

Does anyone else have cats who can hold their legs sideways out from their body making it impossible to 'pop' them anywhere?

Now I think vets and vet nurses are great people who are highly trained and love animals but I ask you- have ANY of you ever managed to 'pop' your cat into a carrier?

Lol, CS, my carriers are both front loading; the only way I can get one in it is to stand it on end and deposit the cat face forward and slam the door shut! I'm certain if I had a top loader that Leia would do the horizontal leg thing too...

Thanks Random, the smaller carrier they do actually use as a bed with the cover in, they know something is afoot though when they see me fetch the door down for it as they both give me that look and then they scarper off as quick as they can LOL

I actually think it is harder to get them in through the top because as you say they can spread their legs out sooooo very wide
