Monday

Morning everyone.
Cold and sunny (ish) here. Just about to take the dogs out and then not sure what to do next.
Sounds like your Schnauzer walk went well Angie.
Karen you mentioned Staffie walks and leads, quite a few Basenjis don't like other Basenjis so if we did a breed walk it would no doubt be mostly on lead

Re: Monday

Morning Shelley - bright and chilly here this morning. I think I'm starting a cold, sore throat etc. Just waiting for my breakfast to go down and then I shall take some Echinacea. Got loads of urgent transcription this week, it's sods law again.

Laundry on, OH is out with Monty. The Schnauzers generally get on well together, depending on whether they've been sufficiently socialised early with other dogs ... most were off lead yesterday apart from one who is a Many Tears rescue girl and still a little scared, although she did very well and is improving every time we see her and a couple of other Minis who IMO would be fine off lead but who have anxious owners! It's a shame Basenjis don't care for others of their kind ..... hasn't the breed retained the pack instinct?

Eileen is not far from my thoughts and I am wondering whether she is still with us or with the angels ...... I'd also really like to know that Leia is OK.

Take care peeps ...... have a good day.

Re: Monday

Morning all.

Lovely day here the wind has died down, bit damp out with intermitten rain. Off out about 4 catching up with my friend who has just come back from Egypt, going to a new Frankie and Benny's. Got a few bits to do transfer some money and things check on a few bits - ie gte out of that Christmas mood and return to reality - luckily I like reality

Mom's got a hospital appoinment tomorrow her eating is worse again back to fluids and mush. so hopefuly a little help without a life threatening op being the only answer.

Shelley it is nice isn't it having "the family" return. I have to tell you found a new author but have hidden the books from myself will let you know when I get back from hols end Feb. Taking Sal out shortly - trying to get back into night mode at work tomorrow till Friday night.

Angie pleased your walk went well did your std and giant turn up and is there much difference in the characters of the 3 sizes? Did you get some pictures? Yours are one of only a handful of breeds I think that have succesfully "achieved" size difference with quality. Have you thought on another dog at all?

Anyhow morning to you all off out shortly Eileen of course in my thoughts but thats kinda normal especially when I see a squirrel on our walks, or even a bottle of alcohol in the shops

awwww very nice Karen, that brought a lump to my throat.
I feel aprehensive when i switch my pc on at the moment.
I'l look foward to hearing about the new author, are you enjoying call the midwife, i've watched last weeks and enjoyed it, it seemed to remain true to the book.
Angie, i think probably a lot of Basenjis are ok off lead, i know Kwame and Malaika are. It seems that nearly everyone with Basenjis show so the dogs are only meeting others in that situation, they don't seem to have any other events, sadly

Re: Monday

Morning! Quick flying visit inbetween work things. I'm aching a treat today as have been allotmenting over the weekend. All my seeds are here just waiting for warmer weather to start sowing in the greenhouse (no heater in there). Pilates tomorrow evening should sort out any residual aches tho . . . I feel so energised each time I do a lesson.

I have a sore throat too - not good as both times I've had one so far this winter, I've ended up loosing my voice. Am dosing daily on Beroca which seems to be keeping the worst of it at bay.

Apart from that all as usual here . . . I too was thinking about Leia , I'm sure Carolyn will make sure she's OK though.

Afternoon all,

Mega busy at work at the moment, not much else to report.

The build is going very well, new roof on and the rooms upstairs all layed out.

In February I will upload some pictures.

Re: Monday

So nice to see people posting it is uplifting. The saying or song "There is no place like home" seems apt at the moment as we return to support each other.
