No. 2 ....".With a little help from my friends" is my favourite !

I loved the Beatles, loved all their songs and felt quite sad when they disbanded

There was an interesting article about just this in today's paper...wouldn't let me highlight it for a link (rats !) If anyone would like to read it (long, but good), go to Washington Post Newspaper, click on Opinions, and it's the article 40 Years Ago Today.

Really, Karen? Were you an Elvis fan then? I love them both; can still remember seeing the Beatles on TV on the Ed Sullivan show on their first trip to the States!

Re: It was 40 years ago today .....

Gosh - I hate to admit it to, I never liked the Beatles, OR Elvis !!

In 1977 (when I was 12) our music teacher disected this album in minute detail for us during music class . . . that probably killed any potential affection for the Beatles and their music stone-dead sadly However, I have to say the track 'She's Leaving Home' has always struck a chord for some reason - maybe I like it's melancholy and fatalistic theme.
