Re: Poppies -do you wear them?

Nope I don't buy any.

It may sound heartless but we just don't see the need to buy and wear a poppy.

Re: Poppies -do you wear them?

I might be a wee bit controversial here but I refuse to wear one - I will start to wear one the day our government stops sending people to their deaths to fight ugly wars on their behalf. I will always remember the ones that have fallen but in my head.

I wonder how many wars there would be if the heads of our governments had to personally lead our armies into war..... I'm thinking they may be faster in coming up with other solutions.

War is ALWAYS ugly, NOT everything in life is pretty-pretty.
War may not be palatable, but IS required at times,
as for "remembering the ones that have fallen but in my head" ....were you one of the women that publicly wailed over diana?

The people who have fallen or been seriously injured fighting for their country should be revered, and that should be done publically and not behind closed doors.

Emm, you don't believe that War is ever necessary, what would we have done over the Third Reich then? War may be unpalatable but at times there are no diplomatic alternatives.

no I don't believe in this era that war is neccessary - the recent war that we are involved in we are the aggressor trying to change another cultures beliefs and ways and muscle in to use their land and resources. ummmmmh who does that remind you of........
