Re: Progress with Red (slow progress!)

Charlie, that looks like great progress! Is it just a week you've had Red now?

I'm having a little bit of a worry about my introductions - I think Bubs will be OK, despite the odd spit - but that has been when Purdie has attacked her tail!

Des is more of a worry because he tends to stay out a lot at this time of year anyway, so the only time he's seen her is when we've 'forced' a brief meeting. Because we've had to keep certain doors closed etc. to keep Purdie in, it also means those doors may have been closed when Des has shown up. I'm just worried Des will feel excluded It isn't the first time we've introduced new cats to him, so I don't know if I'm worrying too much.....

Sorry, rambling a bit there..........

It's been 10 days Sammy, so I guess it's good progress for such a short time........I'm just impatient!!! lol

I tried to do it really slowly at first, with scent swapping and swapping their litter trays etc and only quick sights of each other without actually meeting face to face, but Red has been quite nervous and isn't very well socialised, so at the weekend I just decided to leave all the doors open whilst I was at home and let them get on with it (while I supervised).

There was a bit of hissing and growling and Abi swiped for Red but I think that they are starting to work out their pecking order now and Red knows that he's at the bottom

We're getting there!!!

Hopefully they'll soon be snuggled up together.

Good luck with your intros.

Re: Progress with Red (slow progress!)

Cheers Charlie - I guess I'm being really impatient then, it's only been 4 days!

She is now wanting to play with Bubs and is getting hissed at for her efforts, but nothing worse so I guess that's something! Des is worrying his Mummy by hardly showing up at all, but miraculously appeared when a tin of tuna was banged with a fork!

Just have to give it time I guess!

Glad Bernard is improving too. Must be so hard for him in this strange new house.
