Christmas Eve's Thread

Morning!!!

Off into town shortly to just buy my Mum a little something special as she's been a saint helping with the boys etc (and I've been a bit of a cow to her during this year) AND the flippn' napkins

OH will finish at lunchtime and then I have some ironing to do and at about 4 we'll load the pressies in the car and set off for the Christmas Eve dinner at my Mums. House will be like fort knox to prevent a repeat of last year's burglary trauma.

I plan to go to midnight mass at the church next door to my old primary school tonight, Domi's quite looking forward to more carol singing . . . I hope he managed to stay awake

Re: Christmas Eve's Thread

Good morning all
Is everyone ready then?
Sounds like you are Yola - have a lovely time, and everyone with children have a wonderful xmas season.
Everything is done here, apart from a last minute vacuum to try to keep the worst of the allergens from affecting my son. Plus antihistamine! He was so bad last time he was here we're going to waylay him as he parks and persuade/force an antihistamine on him, and go for a walk whilst it takes effect.
So - quiet day for us. Maybe walk to town and have a festive glass later. Early night waiting for Santa . Off to my mum for a quick hello tomorrow morning, back home and await sneezy son. Vegetarian xmas meal for us. To my sister on boxing day then everyone to me next sunday, including my daughter and her bf (being non-drivers doesn't half cramp their style this time of year!) Then new year - no wonder everyone gets stressed and ill. We all want to be superwoman producing cordon bleu 3 times a day and we all tend to try too hard!
That's my lesson for today.
Have a wonderful christmas everyone (see? - I can enjoy it! But don't start too early!)

Re: Christmas Eve's Thread

My mother in law passed away at 5.30am. I have had to go to work but got cover so I'm now at home.

Don't have anything else to say but wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas and will catch up in a couple of days.

Rest in peace Monica.

Re: Christmas Eve's Thread

Matron I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you manage to find some peace and happiness over the next few days, and I'll remember you all in my prayers.

RIP Monica.

Not much planned here today, just a few pressies to deliver and to make my soup. Everything else is done and we're awaiting the arrival of the big guy in the red suit

Re: Christmas Eve's Thread

Very sorry Matron - you and your family are in my thoughts.

A little bit more wrapping here - OH's pressies. Poor lad, only one he doesn't know about. We've not spent much this year. Going around to deliver some pressies to a friend mid afternoon. Quite looking forward to baked salmon this evening.

Have a peaceful Christmas Eve everyone.
