The bad news just goes on.Some of you may have read about Mike's dad being very ill after a heart attack, and how the doctors wanted to fit a defibrillator to prevent his heart going into vetricular fibrillation. We finally got him to agree to the op and the doctors had to do a couple of more tests to check him over. Sadly, they have discovered secondary tumours in his liver and suspect the primary cancer is in his bowel. He, at the moment, has decided to go home, without the defibrillator (don't even know if the doctors would now want to go ahead anyway). We are not going to try an persuade him otherwise, as we always fell we are bullying and pushing for answers, and the rest of the family agree with his father, that he shouldn't be pushed anymore. It is a very hard thing to do, but you can only do so much and hope nobody regrets this decision.

I'm really sorry to hear your news. Such a shock to you all ontop of your recent stress over his heart situation. It is a brave decision what your FIL has done and in my professional opinion it was the right one just going on what you have told me. It is so difficult for you to watch helplessly and I'm sending you lots of strength and love in helping you get through a very difficult time. Hugs xxx |

Oh how sad. It's never a good time for news like this, but at this time of year it's especially tough. Is your FIL someone who would want to be thoroughly spoilt this Christmas and made to feel ultra-special or would he like to see things carry on much as normal? It would be great to make this Christmas something very precious for him. |
