R.I.P Jim

I am sat here at the moment in a state of shock I have only just discovered that Jim Cronin of 'Monkey World' in Dorset, passed away on 17th March 2007. Having been at Monkey World only last week I just cannot believe it I had absolutely no idea! It is like Steve Irwin all over again

Jim got a pain in his side whilst travelling with his wife Alison, but thought nothing of it. When he went to the hospital he found that he had 3 large tumors on his liver. On returning to New York and seeing a specialist, it was confirmed that he had primary cholangio carcenoma which is a very aggressive form of cancer. The diagnosis often comes too late as the liver continues to function normally until the disease is too far advanced for effective treatment. Jim began chemotherapy the following week, wanting and hoping that he would be able to get enough time to return to Dorset to see his family, friends and supporters himself. Tragically this was not to be the case, and Jim passed away, peacefully with his brother, his wife Alison, and best friend Jeremy at his side.
(Taken from the Monkey World Newsletter)

R.I.P Jim, you will be sadly missed by us all. My thoughts are with Alison and the rest of the family xxxx
