camille, the chameleon...

my little girl chameleon died today. she was impacted with eggs and i guess i didn't setup a nesting area that was to her liking so they killed her...or i guess i killed her in a way. i feel very guilty. please don't lecture me on how i could have setup a better nesting area. i'm just very sad. she was nine months old. RIP camille.

Tink, I wouldn't presume to lecture you on nesting areas. I have no clue myself!

I'm sorry Camille has died. It must be very sad for you. She was such a pretty little thing. So sorry

Re: camille, the chameleon...

Oh Tink I'm so sorry Be very sure tho, you did not kill her.

As I understand it, laying eggs or rather having them impacted is the number 1 cause of death in female chameleons and happens for a variety of reasons including genetic defect - just as it does with any species procreation.

You did the absolute best you could for her, and that is all we can do.

*hugs*

Chameleons do require special care, more so than most reptiles. Sorry to hear about poor Camille.
