Do you fit into the 'average cat owner' section?

Just reading my 'pet people' mag from petplan and it has a census ON 'typical cat owners'

do you fit into this?

Average:
45years old
fully employed
with children
choses a cat because they want something more to care for.
or because they have always had cats.

I couldnt be Further from this!
ME:
25yrs old
suffer from illness can not work.
no kids, cant have them due to illness.
just love cats & animals!

Nah I don't fit this, but then stereotypes are usually frowned upon for a reason.

I've always had cats and love them, a good enough reason for me!

Re: Do you fit into the 'average cat owner' section?

Well, I originally got cats because diagnosis was that I couldn't have kids. I was much younger then, but am now approaching the cited age and apart from working almost full time, I do fit that profile!!

But if I didn't have cats and was considering some now with the lifestyle I have I'm not sure I would make the decision, instead I'd probably wait until the children were a little older.

*Snort*

I'm 20-years-old, unemployed due to depression and social anxiety disorder, no children, and have cats because I'm a pet fanatic but they make me the happiest.

Under 45
Have 2 children although that can be debatable
Work part time (30 hours)
Brought my first cat home at the age of 8 after finding a stray and have never been without a cat since.
