Bruce 21/11/09 - 08/10/2011

after a short illness with a Pituitary Tumour, my brucie boy fell asleep in his igloo early saturday morning. in a way i'm glad his illness wasnt long and drawn out, and it seemed he went peacefully in his favourite place, i just wasnt ready for him to go yet

Bruce was one of two boys born here to me after i unexpectedly aquired a pregnant rat! he was the most lovely boy you could ever ask for, cuddly, licky, and he done this cute little grunting noise whenever i cuddled him. he was always up at the bars to greet me whenever i went past, and the first one to greet me in the morning. he really was one in a million, and i miss him terribly already

wee baby bruce

goodbye Brucie, thankyou for being you, my wee handsome boy.

Re: Bruce 21/11/09 - 08/10/2011

thanks guys, i wasnt quite expecting him to go so soon, and now his twin sister has it aswell, i had my suspicions last week. so expect another obit from me soon!

it was weird, i knew he might not last the night but he wouldnt settle on me, kept on moving about, so i knew in his igloo at least he would sleep through. this was quite hard for me as i like to be with them but i just wanted him to sleep. after i'd calmed myself down and just about to sleep, i awoke and some weird feeling washed over me- like i wouldnt say relief, but u know what i mean. and i knew that was him gone.

So sorry to hear about your dear sweet boy.
They touch the deepest recesses of our hearts in so many ways..the loss is hard to bear, I'm so sorry..

Sounds like you did the right thing leaving him to find comfort and drift off where he felt most comfortable, hard as it was for you. Take comfort in your other little ones.
