Eva was advertised in my old vets reception. The vet brought it to my attention after we lost Woody and said it would help bring out the kitten in Winston, how wrong was he? Very wrong Anyway, she came from a small coastal town just out side of Aberdeen.
Bernie came from Flintshire Cat Rescue and Diddydawn

Re: Where did you get your cat from?

My cats came from a range of places-
Smudge was dumped on a farm, I knew the owner, we took her and others took her 2 siblings.
Samson just moved in one day.
Spice and her sister came via a local rescue, they asked if we would take them or they were going to be PTS.
Candy was fostered for same rescue, but she was so aggressive we decided to keep her, rather than risk her being handed back.
We got Pumpkin and Mustard from the CPL.
We were friends with the daughter of Sooty's owner, when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she wanted him PTS, her daughter persuaded her to let us have him.
Misty was taken in by the rescue again, and again we were asked to take her as they thought she would be hard to rehome at 18.
Triger who we lost recently, came via the vets, he had caught his leg in a snare and the owner didn't want him or the bill after that.

Actually, we've never bought a cat.
All dead now, but
Snowy was found as a 4 week old kitten outside my work.
Spats was from the CPL.
Chokki was Spice's sister.

Re: Where did you get your cat from?

shanti - first cat I bought in a pet shop
since then I've had 1 stray that adopted me - max
3 semi ferals that decided to let me share their lives - sid, shadow and munchkin
1 kitten that was born in a hut outside work - pepper
a reject from another workmate - misty
a tiny kitten that no 1 cat brought home - smudge
currently a planned gift from an aunt - alfie

all moggies all loved to bits.

Getting new kitten at end of the month.

Scamper - parents got him from a friend
Su-ling - from a backyard breeder in the neighborhood (newspaper ad for kittens)
Sultan - from a pet shop (didn't know any better in those days, but he was a healthy well socialized cat)
Misty - showed up on my doorstep
Patches - rehomed from a family who couldn't keep her (newspaper ad)
Dandy - from reputable breeder (Cat Fancy magazine)
Leia - from a friend who was fostering her

Re: Where did you get your cat from?

Denis - is the only cat we have got from an animal sanctuary (Freshfield)
Tigger + Ginger - Dumped on the doorstep at days old, wrapped in a blanket in a carrier bag eyes still closed, weaned by us Tigger died at 18 from a tumour and Ginger was killed by a dog on my doorstep (owner slipped his lead to kill my cat)
Tinker - Came crying around the house, no owner located so we kept him (originally called Tinkerballs but shortened when the nads came off)
Fluffy - Taken out of next doors garden as they didn't look after her
Susie - taken from next door as they didn't look after her

Re: Where did you get your cat from?

Misty came from a breeder as he is a pedigree Birman. The others all came from the Animal Sanctuary where I used to be a volunteer. I just felt so sorry for them and couldn't resist! When we first saw Sidney (he is disabled) My daughter felt so sorry for him that she begged me to let her have him! A friend of mine who was also a volunteer there got really chooked up when she first saw him.

Re: Where did you get your cat from?

Sam from a pet shop, I didn't know any better then either..

Cassie was from a newspaper ad. We followed the given directions and ended right in the middle of the countryside. Found the cottage, the owner said follow me in your car. We were taken down country lanes to a field where there was a hut......inside the dark hut was Cassie and her littermates, no sign of mum Cassie looked so frightened that I had to have her and get her away from there, she had had no socialisation at all. It took ages for her to accept us but she is still very timid to this day.
