Re: Book Club

I would love to have Suite Francaise as the next book!

Re: Book Club

I've just checked, this is available at the library, and sounds most interesting! I'd like it to be the next book also.

Re: Book Club

Having now finished TTW, I've just read an Observer review of Suite Française and it sounds fascinating, if not a little painful to read (but then TTW was almost unbearably tragic towards the end).

I would love to join in, but I read so haphazardly that I'll kine of tag along if that's ok

Re: Book Club

Yola - are you going to add your thoughts on TTW to the dedicated thread? It's always interesting to get other 'takes' on a book.

Anyone like to suggest a date for Suite Francaise?

Re: Book Club

Is a month too long/not long enough? I fancy Suite Francaise too - but a friend has invited me to join a book club she belongs to and they are meeting to discuss the book (don't know what yet!) on April 1st! It will be interesting to see how people "do it" in the flesh, as it were!

Re: Book Club

I'll read whatever everyone decides - Suite Francais sounds v interesting, not my usual sort of book. But its good to be stretched!

Now I can't find it on any e-book site, but Amazon uk has it in paperback. So as soon as decision is made I will order it.

The reviews are pretty mixed so we shall see.

Re: Book Club

Dang I meant to say a month sounds about perfect, any longer and I for one would lose interest! Any shorter and it makes it difficult to kinda guarantee I would finish it in time!

Re: Book Club

It's not my usual sort of book either, but I'm enjoying trying different ones. A month sounds good to me, Angie, will be interesting to hear about your experiences at a live one!

Re: Book Club

Well - I've just started it - so Suite Française looks like our new choice.

Allowing for folks to order it etc. Would the end of the month be realistic?
