Re: Hi

I'm sure there's at least one regular poster (can't remember who ) who has posted of their cat's murmur. If you put your query into the Your Cat's Health section (further up the front page) you're more liable to draw them out.
On a bit of a side tack - my mum has had a heart murmur following rheumatic fever when she was a teenager. She'll be 81 in the summer. Let's hope your kitties are made of similar stuff!

(Are they insured? Is it too late to get them insured?)

Re: Hi

Hello and welcome to Catsey!!!!

Do you know what grade the heart murmurs are in your furbabes? They are graded on severity - 1 to 5 (I think) with 5 being the most serious.

I have had experience of cats with grade 2 heart murmurs who have had no problems at all in life. In fact, one of them, Bernard, was about 7 or 8 years old when I had him and it had caused him no problems.

As for murmurs in kittens - it's my understanding that they can "grow out" of the murmur as they get bigger and their bodies develop.

I see that Mags has now posted you some links and hopefully there will be more information on there.

Can we see some piccies of your babies!?!?
