Re: Cat wanted!!

Thanks Moli

yeah it was such a sad time. But please warn everyone about antifreeze as its deadly and can only take about 3 or 4 mm swallowed to kill a cat.
Its very sweet stuff and cats are drawn to it and all it takes is a lick of a paw to kill them.
My Partner Leon and i had no idea of this and the vet (once we'd rushed poor Sandy to him) said he was a textbook case.
The toxins in the antifreeze immediatly attack the nervous system which makes the cat look like they've been in a fight, run over or fallen. Then, it starts to shut down the kidneys and the damage is done!

Have you contacted your local CPL? If your not too far from our Smudgley she's always inundated.

Hi Steph, welcome to Catsey..

So sorry to hear you lost Sandy in October, they do leave a void don't they?

Can I suggest you first look into rehoming a rescue cat/kitten? There are lots of cats in these rescue homes waiting for loving, forever homes.

Have you tried your CPL in Southampton, here's their link .......

http://www.cats.org.uk/contact/findc...ubmit&region=1

Please let us know if you find the furbaby for you..

Re: Cat wanted!!

She's a member here. She helps with the CPL and always had cats and kittens. On the left hand side of the page look at the members list. Go to S for Smudgley and look at her profile. You could always send her a pm. Hopefully she will be within driving distance to you.

Re: Cat wanted!!

Hi & welcome to Catsey. I'm Smudgley I have a few cats needing homes, but I'm too far away from you.

Good luck with finding a cat.

Anti-freeze is terrible & a killer of many animals every year. Because it tastes sweet, they will eat it if given the chance.

Another similar killer is slug pellets, even the supposedly pet friendly ones can kill.
