Sal will give warning bark but she does not bark for ages although she does have something to say for herself if her Kong gets stuck somewhere she cannot get it. But a quick "Oi" stops it and when she was younger a little side tracking was in order she never barks outside.

I think Monty is getting excited, hence the barking there is a chap round the corner with a puppy who barks and barks when he sees a dog its ear piercing too yap too. The chap never lets the pup meet dogs though.........so I see it as frustration. I would just bombard his world (that sounds horrible) with as many things as possible so he does not have chance to think "bark" and remember as the World is exciting....... may as well tell the World he's in it too.

Yes, it's a piercing bark within the ordinary woof that is the most annoying cos it goes right through you and ends in whines. I do understand that he is excited - luckily the beautiful horses up at the stable just a short way from our home are extremely well behaved and schooled as I am always worried that they will react and do something terrible - they are big horses, not ponies. The riders are all understanding and realise he is a youngster and excited. At least he is being socialised with other dogs - not exactly bombarded, but he does meet puppies and runs around with them. When in the chase outside at puppy class, he rushes about but never barks!!! Our last puppy class tonight and we will be signing up for "Juniors"!
