I wrote this a couple of years ago and thought I would share it with you all
I'm not very good with Poetry but it made me laugh
A Cat's Life
Gently I move and softly I tread,
My eyes grow bright, there’s a sunbeam ahead
My legs turn to jelly, my brain turns to mush
I curl up within it, I have to sleep! I really must!
A cat’s life is harsh, really it is,
Eating and sleeping, what hardship, what bliss!
Playtime is fun and exploring is neat
My whole house if full of unexpected treats
I bounce after shadows, I’ll never catch one I fear,
I stop overjoyed, my human is here!!
Rubbing and purring I knead legs with my paws
Ooh she tapped my nose – I was using my claws
The outrage fades fast as she tickle my chin
Forgiveness is swift when I see how she grins
I weave round her feet as she serves up my food
Tripping her is bad, cause she gets in a mood
Humans above all are a cats best friend
What we’d do without them I can’t comprehend
And know ye this when you have trouble or strife
Own a human, with them it really is a cat’s life!
