Doris Has A Sore Bottom

Doris came in to rescue from Ireland in March last year. She is FIV positive. She had her tail amputated following a trauma, before she came to us.
Doris is a really pretty, and very friendly girl, and would make an ideal pet, if it wasn't for her tail-trauma, which left her doubly incontinent. And her FIV status (which needs a special home)
Today I noticed she had a sore stump-of-tail which looked infected. I got her to the vets, and the update is that she has a massive ulcerated area, which is complicated because of her incontinence.
She has had her bottom shaved and the wound cleaned up. She's had Convenia and metacam.
She needs lots of vibes please.
This is Doris - she doesn't like the flash - FIV friend annabelle in the background.
And this is Doris's sore bottom:

Re: Doris Has A Sore Bottom

Hi
Poor Doris
My Mitzi has had an anal abcess that flares up if she has anything with milk in it so.. I can sympathise with you and Doris on this!
It can take a while to heal and needs lots of gentle bottie washing and patting dry to keep the area clean, dry, and free of infection. Poor love!
I hope the Convenia's agreeing ok with Doris Farplace. As long as she gets on ok with the antibiotics then that's good news and half the battle!

Tons of special Doris healing wishes and loving thoughts sent across the miles. x

Re: Doris Has A Sore Bottom

She is still very sore. She does not like me washing her (must hurt) and is being difficult about taking her metacam.
Im not really happy about her this evening. may get her back to vets tomorrow if there is no improvement.

Poor Doris,
I hope her wound heals, not good for an FIV cat to have an open wound. It's a horrible virus.
