Re: Max has been in for some blood tests today.

Thanks for your good wishes I'm hoping things will turn out okay for him or at least that he can be treated......he has lost so much weight and seems to have shrunk in size I've got his two brothers here as well and they are nice big cats, Max was the biggest a couple of months ago, now he looks so dainty bless him

Re: Max has been in for some blood tests today.

I've spoken to Sean today and little Max's blood results are not good Apparently the only thing that seems to be working are his kidneys He said his body is fighting itself, and he has some form of Liver disease The lump in his thyroid is some form of tumour and he is 99% certain it will be cancerous....basically there's nothing they can do for him

He is going in on Monday for some antibiotics, they probably won't do anything but worth a try. He is also going to have some vitamin shots and we'll try him on a Hepatic diet for his liver and then it's a case of one day at a time until his time comes.

I will be having a chat with Sean Monday.....I'm still a bit shocked by his results today to think about it any more. We will decide whether it's best to let him go now or when he declines further

I'm so sorry to hear this DD. I really hope you find some way of stealing more time with him. I know it is a very difficult time and decisions are hard but I am sure you will do the right thing for him {{{Hugs to you and Max}}}

Re: Max has been in for some blood tests today.

Hopefully by Monday I will have got my head round it a bit more and then I'll take it from there. I'm going to get him on some immune system boosters and hopefully he'll improve a little bit........I don't think he can be cured but at least if we can keep him as healthy as possible under the circumstances, he'll be around a bit longer. Sean's going to go through the results with me again on Monday, and he said he'll do everything possible to keep him comfortable. I'm going to order some Transfer Factor Plus and hopefully this will boost him up a bit.......I just hope it's the right thing to do for him, I don't want him suffering in any way With Bob it was an emotional roller coaster because we didn't really know until the last week what was wrong with him, at least with Max I sort of know what I'm dealing with which in some ways makes it easier.
