Baby Butterball, Rufus and Frankie

Baby Butterball is the one in the blue cube. He is Tigers' half brother (same mother, different litter). He was named Butterball because when he was a kitten he was the only surviving kitten in the litter and his mother must have made him nurse 24/7 to be comfortable. He was so fat he didn't walk, HE WADDLED!
Rufus is the one on top of the kitty condo. He is the old man of the house at 14. We got him from the shelter about 7 years ago. His owner had died and the relatives turned him into the shelter. He looked so depressed, we brought him home. He immediately hated every other cat in the house and had to be seperated and slowly brought into the fold. We think Rufus was the only cat in the house for his whole life and our house can be a little intimidating.
Frankie is the white one in the bottom of the kitty condo. We found him at a grocery store when he was about 10 weeks old. He was under a pick up truck, on top of the spare tire. Frankie is solid white with baby blue eyes and yes, he is totally deaf. This doesn't stop him from living a full life though. He is the one who got through to Rufus. When Frankie was a kitten, Rufus, would growl and hiss and act all tough. Frankie couldn't hear him so he just ignored him. Rufus was baffled that he couldn't buffalo Frankie. To this day they are playmates.

I think they are all lovely but I am biased. Haha, isn't it funny how every cat has their own story. I have never woke up in the morning and thought "I am going to get a new cat today!" Somehow they always find us!
Does anything warm the heart like a cat? Most of the time I prefer the cats to humans!

I have to agree cats always pick their owners and I won't be having children either Grete (but mines through choice) but I couldn't be happy without a cat. The shame is Denis will most probably be the only one as he is so jumpy and freaked it wouldn't be fair to upset him just cos I want to fill my house (maybe we should swap sometimes Cybeeb he he)

Re: Baby Butterball, Rufus and Frankie

I have one son who is 27 and the grandmother of 2 beautiful grandsons.
Most of the time I definitely prefer the cats! haha

Babycakes, I don't know what I would ever do if I woke up and only had one cat. As I sit here now, there are two on my computer desk , 2 on the dining room table a few feet away and 6 on the sofa a few inches away.
But,Hey, come for a visit and see Catopia (that is what we call our house!)
