Change of diet for my rescue cat ?

I have recently re-homed a gorgeous rescue moggy who is 3 years old. He had cystitis in the past when in the cattery but it has totally cleared up. He is on a special urinary diet from the vets. Can he have chicken and fish says once a week to vary his diet a little.

That should be fine, cannt see why it would hurt.

I would have thought that wouldn't be an issue. Just introduce one at a time.

Is hr getting plenty of liquid? Very important in cystitis. The fish and chicken should be fine.

He is drinking plenty of water. His previous owner said not to give him other food apart from special urinary diet biscuits and pouches, but surely fish and chicken once a week will enhance his diet.

Fish and chicken won't do any harm. I'd suggest boiling them in water and when cool, giving some of the 'juice' also. My cats adore that and it means they are getting additional liquids too.
