What cat food is best?Which out of the cat foods out there is best to feed your cat? Hills prescription food is out of the equation for feeding Dylan because Dylan really doesn't like it and refuses to eat it at all. Purina One is out because of Kado's experience, Royal Canin Dylan's not keen on. I have no idea about Iams, whether Dylan would eat it or not (he hasn't tried it) I've read the labels of several of them but they don't make sense?   Which would you all say is the best one?

Mine tried iams and didnt like it. When we first got maisey she did have the runs for a couple of days at that time they where on felix tins. They went off that and Maisey didnt like it. She was on asda own brand foil tins went off that so i tried her on pets at home supermeat and she loved it. Because she got pregnant i put her on kitten food but had to take her off that when she got colitas she now is a lot better not very many loose poops. I used to get a food called technical which they loved but then found it hard to get it where i lived. I think its what he chooses you have to give him at least 4 days on a new food. I always read the lables beause of guinness for ph balance |

Our little bundle of mischief is about 14 weeks old now. We wanted to give her the best nutrition as a cats development is relatively quick, and read some comments on here , also from pet stores. She was on Hills kitten to begin with, then we got the impression that it's not all it's cut out to be,so - Royal Canins website was good/seemed to make sense,she does still like some wet as well as dry, so we have her on this mix at the mo - Royal Canin dry 50% ('Kitten 36' 0-4 months) Royal Canin kitten wet 25% (won't eat this on it's own!) Iams or 'Purely' wet 25% (as she loves it so much and we think she should have some meat!) She loves Royal Canin 'Babycat 34' (4-12months) dry , as a treat which is great as she goes on to that next month as her main meal! All seems to work very well, she is really vibrant, happy and her coat is unreal, really shiny and smooth. It's a question of trial, but i'd say go for best you can, and mix in the new with the previous to begin with if trying something new! |

Maybe your local pet shop could order it in for you? Is there a Pets @ Home near you? If so try their own brand, my cats aprove of that too. |

I go with the ones with the highest meat content, wet food is Natures Menu, and dried food is James Wellbeloved. They also have hilife if I cannot get the Natures Menu. |

Both of those give my cats the runs Emma. It's strange what one cat will eat others will not. It's Royal Canin here . . . both wet and dry, pretty much to the exclusion of everything else. RCR - you should try them all out for yourself. Because one or other cat doesn't take to a food doesn't mean Dylan won't. Get samples from all the manufacturers (most will send stuff through online registrations) and see which appeals to your grey boy for yourself. |
