Koko does it again

Well having gone through virtually every problem relating to socialising cats, introducing cats, trying to make timid cats less timid, guess what?

Yesterday Koko decided she loved me above all things and has been climbing on my knee, purring and squeaking for attention. I pick her up and cuddle her on my shoulder. No prob. I stroke her all over. No prob (in fact choky purrs!). She loves tickles under her chin and she rolls on her back to get a tummy tickle. This is every time I sit down mind, and it could get a little wearing! Sublime to the ridiculous!

Other than jealous of Rajah......... what can this be? Have I finally socialised my little beautiful wild baby?

Untouchable Koko no more!!

Re: Koko does it again

I think her biggest problem was that she was afraid, and now she isn't. She will always be a nervous puss, but she is less timid now. I don't think she had a memory problem after all, she just had to decide whether or not I was a friend! It only took her five months but we are getting there.

And maybe she needed (or will need) a cat companion.

Re: Koko does it again

It could be Rajah has given her confidence, she see's him with you being cuddled, and realises you are nothing to be scared of....

Has Koko any white hairs in her coat???

I think you should start taking notes for a book on Koko - she appears to be a true 'one-off'.
It's so pleasing to hear that she's starting to be real cat. Could she have been totally terrified of humans? Did her breeder not expose her to other humans, maybe?

Re: Koko does it again

I don't think Koko was socialised, petted, picked up or given any meaningful human/cat contact at all so in reality I got an almost feral kitten. She loves being cuddled and petted now, not too keen on being carried. I think if she knows she can leave or stop whenever she wants it is ok, but being carried is too trapping.

No Moli not one white hair, I am intrigued, why?
