May it be possible to put the vet exam on hold for another week or so and try the cranberry and vinegar from now till the following Monday or Friday week therefore giving it a chance and enough time to see is there is an improvement before going down the GA route?
To be honest I think the vet's rather concerned too so we'll go ahead with next Monday's exam as planned. Poor boy won't understand why he won't be getting his bedtime bikkie on Sunday (nothing to eat from 8pm the day before GA)

I haven't got the cranberry capsules yet, shops were shutting, but I put a few dried cranberries in his tea, I don't think he likes the cider vinegar in his water though and there's only a tiny bit in there, he sniffs and has a few laps but walks away.

I'm very sorry to hear Morgan still has a problem. I do hope the cranberry and cider vinager work, it's got to be worth a go. Gentle pats to Morgan

Oh dear poor Morgan!
Did the vet say what type of crystals they found? Would your vet not attempt an ultrasound while he's conscious? We would usually only sedate/GA for an x-ray rather than a scan.
Hope you get some results soon, although I'd be wary of adding anything to his water if he's not keen, you want to increase his water intake if anything.

They might have to do an x-ray apparently and one of the tests involves a catheter in his penis so I'm afraid he'll have to have a GA

By the way he's now drinking his adulterated water!

Hope all goes well.

Maybe he wants to get in the action with your gall bladder and all.

Ahh yes, def a GA to place a catheter! Stones can be difficult to pick up on an ultrasound so I assume they will do a series of contrast radiographs as well to get the full picture. Glad he's drinking the water now too.

Poor Morgan. I hope the scan/x-ray proves conclusive so that appropriate treatment can take place to make him better.

Re: Morgan: Update

I've been using the ACV since Teddies bout with cystitis and fingers crossed, touch wood, we haven't had any recurrence. It took mine a few days to decide the water was safe to drink, but now have no probs with it.

Lots of healing vibes for Morgan xx

Re: Morgan: Update

That's good news about your Teddie, Alex. How much ACV do you give?
