Goodbye "oh m'darlin" Clementine

I don't really "do" forums anymore, and it's been a very busy year so haven't really been about on either here or dogsey but I felt this was important to come back and post for as logged in over the weekend to have a search for a few things.
It's with great sadness I have to announce Clementine (for those who remember her), was put to sleep earlier today. She'd been suffering and under treatment with hyperthyroidism since Spring and hadn't been doing too well lately, after some further tests recently she was found to have a cancerous mass within her stomach and bowel. We discussed for the vet and agreed that we wouldn't opt to go further, she wasn't taking well to the medication fro her hyperthyroidism and had just gone downhill over summer, her quality of life was sadly diminishing before my eyes and this was the last straw. She'd begun to suffer, and it just wasn't fair..i would of gave all the sheep in wales to keep her for a little longer, but it would of been selfish. The old addage of "better a day too soon than a day too late", eh?
She was put to sleep in my arms, and went purring away (after attacking the vet naturally, she didn't have a warning on her file for nothing don't you know..she may have had a ragdoll mother but she stayed true to her feral daddy routes) and it was all very dignified. I brought her home to bury, the dogs and big tom cats gave her a standing ovation..all five sat round her in a mournful manner, it was very moving, and she's buried in her favourite spot in the garden. Looking back at old diaries I always miscounted a year off her date of birth, which means she would be cracking on for 10 in march..no means ancient but a good innins for a kitten which was turfed out on the stable yard for being "just a moggy". I will miss my naughty tortie no end, she ruled the house with an iron claw and relished being the matriach of my brood of unruly pets..she was a cat in a million, and one who will always leave her pawprints in my heart.
Goodnight sweet girl, I hope you had fun here.

Thankyou ladies, the house is so quiet..the dogs have congrigated infront of the fire, and the kittens ( i say kittens, they're both five next birthday!) have taken to the age old catden ontop of the wardrobe. It's just not quite the same without her..

Oh Luke! I'm crying a bit, you know I always loved Clem, she was so like my dear Patches; you remember I always asked after her. I'm so so sorry, I know you must miss her terribly; Elsa, Bella, now Clemmie... I'll never forget her expertise at bat catching . RIP, dear Clementine, run free, no more pain or pills.....

Thanks for letting us know.
