Natural Enemies? Not Necessarily!
Remembering a time about ten years ago when visiting my brother in Torquay. At the time they had a young golden labrador and an expectant cat, the two of them always got along, but on the Sunday morning I was first up and went into the kitchen for a coffee. I heard faint mewing noises from the utility room and imagine my surprise when I found that the cat had had a litter of six, all of which were curled up close to the dog while the mother was eating from her bowl. I suppose the labrador was expressing her maternal instincts.
I believe that it is not always the case that they will fight like cats and dogs, but if properly introduced and brought up together they will become as companionable, if not more so, than cats together.
I wish that I'd had a camera handy.
