Pneumonia - help please

Hi, Archie is 20 months and for the last few days has shown signs of trying to bring up a fur ball. He has been eating fine until this morning but I wasn't happy with the look of him today and took him to the vets. He has had blood tests which seem ok but they suspect pneumonia just waiting for X-ray results. He is an indoor cat and hasn't shown any other signs such as discharge from eyes and nose. I am going out of mind with worry, does this sound right? I will really appreciate any comments.

Is he in the vets? It's always a worry when our pets are ill. When are they letting you know the results of the X-ray?

Just got the results, it is pneumonia, they are giving him antibiotics and will monitor him over the next 48-72 hours

Are the vets keeping Archie in? Pneumonia can be quite a volatile illness so specialist monitoring might be an idea.

I don't have any specific advice to give as I've not experienced this in a cat (although I had pneumonia as a child), but I do hope Archie is able to fight it off.
